Philosophy

Scent
The serum has a fine scent of natural Damask rose oil. Damask, or Taif, rose has always been regarded as a royal garden flower, and to grow it elsewhere had been strictly prohibited for a very long time. In the Middle Ages, the rose oil was more valuable than pure gold. But even nowadays the flower is fairly rare, and its oil is still one of the most expensive perfume and cosmetic ingredients. Rose petals are harvested in peak bloom, during only 2 months, in May and June. This is done early in the morning, before sunrise, as the concentration of aroma compounds in petals is the highest at dawn. Harvested petals must be distilled before noon. Before distillation petals are weighed and mixed with purified water in specific proportions. The petals are placed in tightly closed copper containers and boiled slowly for 6 hours, the steam passing down through long tubes in coolers. The distillate drops are collected in a container, and oil spheres appear on its surface. This is rose extract. Renowned perfumeries claim that there is no scent better than that of Damask rose.
Brightening
The serum contains ingredients with high brightening properties, targeting the source of age spots and skin dullness in three ways
Tranexamic acid is a synthetic analogue of the amino acid lysine, that kicks off collagen synthesis in our body. This promotes hydration and regeneration of the skin, as well as helps cure inflammation, including acne. Tranexamic acid is effective in the initial stages of pigmented spots formation because it blocks plasmin, which activates the synthesis of melanin.
Hydrolyzed codonopsis pilosula filtrate works as a pigmentation inhibiting agent as it suppresses the activity of tyrosinase. It blocks the production of melanin in skin cells and helps prevent pigmented spots.
Jawanese cardamom seed extract inhibits the production of melanin, which results in a high skin-brightening effect.
Lipophilic licorice root extract is a nano-component. A special nano-capsulation technology allowed to add this glabridin-containing lipophilic licorice root extract in the form with the maximum absorption possible. (Glabridin is a flavonoid characterized by high skin-brightening properties.) This nano-capsulation technology is beneficial as the component penetrates the deepest layers of the skin, enhancing the skin-brightening effect. Also, the extract effectively boosts skin’s natural ability to produce ceramides (lipids that keep the skin well-hydrated and support its barrier function, which is necessary to protect the skin from the environment.)
Hydrolyzed prunus mume fruit extract controls the processes of melanin transportation in the skin and prevents the formation of pigmented spots. Also, the extract is used in anti-aging skincare products, stabilizes the level of skin hydration and nourishes it with vitamins. The extract reverses dull skin with uneven tone and is recommenced as an anti-aging skincare ingredient, as well as for the skin prone to thinning and dehydration.
3-O ethyl ascorbic acid at the moment is considered one of the most stable (and expensive) forms of vitamin C. It does not oxidize when exposed to light, air, water and other ingredients in the product. The component shows fast results and is suitable for sensitive skin. Removes unwanted pigmentation, stimulates collagen production and relieves swelling.

Ectoin is an organic amino acid. It promotes the formation of cell protective barrier and is an effective natural antioxidant. One molecule of ectoin can attract and hold together 4-5 molecules of water, and this helps maintain the level of skin hydration and protect the skin from moisture loss. The ingredient blocks aggressive effects of ultraviolet irradiation and inhibits the synthesis of melanin.
Artichoke extract helps remove oedema, stimulates regeneration processes, makes the skin thicker and removes wrinkles. Also, the extract makes the signs of photoaging less visible, improves complexion and prevents hyperkeratosis. The ingredient has a pronounced lymphatic drainage effect.
Tocopherol (vitamin E) makes the wrinkles less noticeable, stimulates the synthesis of collagen, slows down age-related loosening of the skin. The amount of ceramides in stratum corneum of the skin reduces with age, and this is one of the reasons the skin becomes dry.

Arginine is an amino acid that regulates microcirculation and protective functions of the skin. Also, it removes pigmentation and swiftly assists the healing of sunburns.
Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is an antioxidant, which possesses anti-inflammatory and skin-smoothing properties. It is a soothing ingredient suitable for sensitive skin prone to irritation, redness and itch. Removes irritation caused by aggressive environment, including UV-irradiation, as well as by mechanical damage (contact dermatitis). The component effectively protects the skin and prevents inflammation.

How to Use
Take a small amount of the serum and apply on face and neck with fingertips or a cotton tissue using soft patting movements. Use day and (or) night on cleansed skin after lotion. The serum should be applied on damp skin before the lotion absorbs completely. Follow with your creams and other skin nurturing or protective products for face or the area around eyes.
Safety Precautions
Do not use on skin with oedema, eczema and other conditions. If any discomfort or irritation occur, stop using the product and consult your dermatologist. Make sure to prevent the product from getting into your eyes. If the product has gotten into your eyes, wash it away immediately with plenty of water.
Do not store the product at extremely high or low temperatures, keep away from direct sunlight. Store in places inaccessible for children.
